Pentagram NY’s Paula Scher talks about country branding

Becoming quite a fan of Monocle magazine’s website.

Click here to watch an insightful interview between Pentagram’s Paula Scher and Tyler Brûlé (of Wallpaper* fame) about reinvigorating ‘brand America’.

Paula’s pride of NYC certainly shines through, justifying her choice of ‘electing’ the Statue of Liberty over the ‘protected’ American Eagle.

I wonder what Paula made of Wolff-Olins recent NYC taxi branding effort. I’d be even more interested to find out what she made of BBH’s ad campaign???

Now, I don’t know about you, but riding an open top bus around Manhattan with Bert and Ernie pisses all over the Sex and the City Tour.

Have a look at the comments on the Creativity Online site. It’s easy to tell the New Yorker’s from the tourists.
