Miles Davis - Freddie Freeloader.
This tune reminds me of New York City more than any other song. I think it’s because of an early memory of the city when I was 19 or 20, sitting in Brooklyn drinking a glass of red wine and just looking at the skyline while listening to Kind of Blue with good friends. It doesn’t get much better than that.
My flashback, similar but different: Midtown Manhattan, 19th floor, sitting on the window ledge, lights down, looking out over 43rd and Lex, and planning production of our film.
